All Du-Mor Coater Blades are precision wet honed so
that NO heat is induced into raw material, allowing distortion free
finishing and the Ultimate in Accuracy.
Blue Polished Coater Blade Steel
Alloy
Coater Blade manufactured from the finest quality 1095 carbon coater
blade steel in the world. Industry Standard Coater Blade made of
the finest 1095 carbon steel with extra accurate straightness and
blade angle for repeatability from blade to blade and order to
order. Directional camber inspection is included with all Du-Mor
Coater Blades. Blade angles are held to +/-1/2 of 1 degree
accuracy. Hardness is between 52-54 Rockwell C Scale.
"Extra Special Coated" Coater Blade
Du-Mor
Blade proprietary coating applied to the coater blade material,
giving the blade a thin protective skin which enhances application
of coating color to sheet by lowering the coefficient of friction by
over 30-%. Also, eliminating corrosion along the heel of the blade
and coating buildup gives operators a maintenance free blade where
blade consistency and performance are critical.
Stainless Steel Coater Blade: 716 (420 mod)
Manufactured from a special 420 mod Stainless Steel designed and
engineered for coater blade application. This material has the same
basic specs as the blue carbon but a slightly higher hardness and
improved wear characteristics. Corrosion resistant.
Ultra Glide Coater Blade Series:
All the properties of Extra Special Coated except for increased
wear. This blade can be used in areas where a slightly longer
wearing blade is needed over blue polished steel coater blades.
ie:
Blue Polished Steel wears 4-5 hours; Ultra Glide 8-10 hours -
usually double when coating formulas do not contain high percentages
of calcium clay or Titanium Oxide. Ultra Glide is a middle
performance wear product.
Friction Guard Alpha Coater Blade Steel
Industry’s first coater blade that uses our long wear encapsulation
principal. This process encapsulates the entire blade and bevel
with our patented coating. This product is extremely positive where
coating formulations burn the heel of the standard coater blade
which in turn creates defects in the sheet. This product greatly
enhances blade life and in most cases eliminated blade wear related
coating defects. This product is a direct drop in for blue polished
steel coater blades.
All Friction Guard and Ultra Glide Coater Blades are
manufactured using the Du-Mor Patent Pending Process and are
available in stages to serve the needs of all coating situations.
Friction Guard Superia Coater Blade Series:
(Du-Mor
Friction Guard Ceramic Technology)
Friction Guard Superia I –
This
is the true work horse of ceramic blade technology. Outwears and
outperforms all competitors.
·
Aluminum Oxide plus Zirconium Oxide
·
Higher
Hardness than II, therefore giving Longer Life
Friction Guard Superia II –
Not
quite the wear of Superia I but contains enhanced profiles and
greater sheet gloss, excellent performance for a ceramic coater
blade.
· Aluminum Oxide and greater amounts of Zirconium Oxide
· Lower Hardness than I, reduces life over Superia I
· Better Profile
· Improved Glossiness
Friction Guard Superia I + or II + - Special Extra
Procedure that can be added to Superia I or II.
· Reduces any Scratches
· Reduces any Streaks
· Further Extends Life
· Better Smoothness of Coated Surfaces – Furthermore Improving Paper
Du-Mor Newest Ceramic and Longest Wearing –
